The Nashua Youth Soccer League (NYSL) is a recreational, non-profit, volunteer organization that teaches basic soccer skills to children between the ages of 5 and 19 years old. It has been serving the Nashua area 40 years!
Referees with a U.S. Soccer Federation referee patch must register as a NYSL referee in order to get game assignments.
NYSL referee registration for the Fall 2021 season is Open (use Register Online link on homepage)
Referees need a valid 2021 patch to participate as a NYSL referee.
If you have a 2020 U.S. Soccer Federation referee patch, your patch expired at the end of the year and you should have been issued a 2021 patch. If you were not registered for 2020 and wish to participate in the Fall 2021 season, you will need to attend a NH Soccer training class to get your 2021 patch.
The good news is because the pandemic has forced stoppage of a lot of soccer in 2020, US Soccer and NH Soccer automatically registered 2020 referees for 2021 without a new fee.
You must be at least 13 years old to become a referee. The steps you need to follow are:
Pass the Grassroots Referee class. You will get your patch at the end of the class if you pass the test. For the current list of classes for new referees, click here. Most of these courses are conducted on-line with a separate Field session scheduled later.
Once you have passed the class and you have your referee patch, register as a NYSL referee using the link above in the registration information section.
Game reports are filled out from the game reporting link under Officials Area. You only need to fill out a game report if you had an injury or if you handed out any cards.
If you have any questions that are not covered by the details on the website, you can contact the director of referees using the email
